Personal Training with Tom Carpenter

Funtionally Fit is my new Personal Training business.  My focus is on functional and proper, natural movement. I incorporate multiple tools/modalities to help you accomplish your goals.

I do Personal Training one on one, or in small groups with a focus on pain free mobility and activity. My classes regularly use body weight, kettle bells, traditional free weights, TRX, and floor (mat) work to help my clients (re)gain mobility and proper functional movement patterns, and balance.

My specialty is working with Cyclists to correct muscle imbalances, and poor movement and technique that can lead to pain on the bike. I am personally familiar with both the incorrect movements that cause the pain, and the correcting exercises and other changes needed to ride pain free. Let me share what I’ve learned with you.

I also teach performance based Spin classes, plus beginner/intermediate Mountain Biking and Cyclocross skills.  Generally I love to ride bikes, and teach others. I am an NASM Certified Personal Trainer, as well as certified in Functional Movement Taping (FMT) from RockTape, a Stages Certified Spin Instructore, and a TRX Suspension Qualified Trainer. I am also currently working on a Corrective Exercise Specialty certification to further help my clients.
